Jos Buttler praises jaya9 vip Abhishek's batting as England suffer record defeat

jaya9 vip Abhishek scored 135 (54b, 7x4, 13x6), the highest score by an Indian individual in a T20i match, as the Blue Shirts finished at 247 for 9. As in most matches chasing huge targets, England wilted under the pressure and were bowled out for just 97 in the 11th over, allowing India to win by 150 runs. The win meant Suryakumar Yadav lifted the trophy and the series ended 4-1 in favour of the hosts.

After he and Sanju Samson were out to start the innings, the entire first half was a brilliant performance from Abhishek. While Samson set the tone by clearing a deep ball on the first ball of the match, Abhishek looked unhurried by his standards. In the next over, soon after Samson hit the ball to the same spot for the fifth time in a row, Abhishek rushed to the wicket in the third over and hit his first Boundary ball.

From then till he collapsed at the end of the innings, Abhishek’s ferocious attack made the England fielders the laughing stock of the crowd. When he hit it through the seam, the ball accelerated toward the fence. But more often than not, he wanted to show off his batting skills. He successfully cleared the rope 13 times, the most by an Indian player in a T20I, with four of them coming in the fifth over against Jamie Overton.

After this innings, India's score in the PowerPlay became 95-1, the highest score in the first six innings of a T20I match. Abhishek, who had become India's second-fastest half-century scorer by then, blew a kiss as he celebrated hitting his 50 off 17 balls.

His fierce attack caught the English bowlers off guard and left them powerless to fight back. Abhishek bowled fast bowler and leg-long bowler Adil Rashid out of the pitch as they bowled inside his arc. When they bowled short, he hit it quickly. But his trademark drive of the ball high over the bowler’s head resulted in one of the balls almost hitting the glass in the commentary box. The highlight was a lob by Brayden Cass in the ninth inning that sailed over the fence at a variable speed.

Even though he kept losing partners at the other end, Abhishek was just one run away from becoming India's second-fastest centurion when the break was called after 10 overs, with India's score at 143-2. Abhishek flicked a shot from the right side for a rare single that earned a standing ovation from the crowd.

Shivam Dube then made a cameo appearance as India ensured the second half was a mere formality. This result was the same as when India finished the match in the 11th over. Aside from Phil Salt’s 50 points, only Jacob Bethell cracked double figures. Except Hardik Pandya, all other Indian bowlers took wickets.

Dhruv Jurel took over wicketkeeping in place of Samson, who injured his finger while fielding a short ball bowled by Archer in the first innings. The keeper took three catches, including one from the inside edge of Mark Wood, and handed the ball to Mohammed Shami for his third wicket. .
