The Indian women's team extended their unbeaten run against the West Indies to their ninth consecutive title with a 49-run victory in the series opener on Sunday.


West Indies were extremely sloppy on the field earlier in the day, with the visitors conceding as many as three catches throughout the match. But it all started with a 50-run loss, with Uma Chetry taking on the role of attacker early on and Mandhana catching up admirably and even bowling out Dottin ) six points.


Umma was bowled by Karishma Ramharack soon after the PowerPlay ended and West Indies were unable to capitalize on the opportunity. Mandana and Rodriguez combined for 81 points in just 7.2 overs, including 18 points from Matthews' over. Rodriguez achieved her 12th T20I fifty in just 28 balls.


Mandana fell down and went for cover in the 14th over, but Richa Ghosh came in and wasted no time and ended up making 20 cameos in the 14th over. Driggs also persevered and helped India score 56 runs in the last 5 overs. She lasted until the penultimate ball, where she was exhausted, but not before she had done her job for the team.
