Ranji Trophy 2024: marvelbet After almost 100 days, an emotional Vijay Shankar enjoys the cricket match against Tamil Nadu

marvelbet Vijay Shankar, who appears to be a player with something to prove, termed his match-saving hundred in the second innings against Chhattisgarh as "much needed".

"I know how much hard work I've put into this. Most importantly, it's exciting for me.

The all-rounder, who has not featured in the first two games, said it was difficult to sit on the sidelines.

"I didn't feel good and it was tough sitting in the locker room the last two games. I've been playing for many years and doing well and still missing opportunities, which is very tough. When you know you're playing well and you're playing It's not easy when you're well, which is very much needed in this century," he added.

Vijay, who sustained a minor shoulder injury during the TNPL, explained that he wanted to enjoy every moment on the field, considering he was playing a match after almost 100 days.

"I hit the ball well. Even in the first inning, I hit the ball well. I just played within myself and brought the ball into the court, and that's my strength. I just wanted to play long."

"When you come back and do these things for the team, what more do you need? It's probably one of the best feelings you can have. I'm happy with the way I'm batting. Getting 100 runs is definitely a big thing. Great things, but the way I batted and caught the ball was very special because I felt I bowled it well and didn’t try anything extra,” Vijay commented.
