jeetbuzz365 A Swedish prosecutor said on Tuesday a rape investigation had been opened after media reports the Real Madrid and France star became a suspect following a visit to Stockholm with friends, but made no mention of Kylian Mbappe.


Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet and Expressen and public broadcaster SVT reported on Tuesday that Mbappe, 25, was the target of an investigation after a two-day visit to the Nordic capital last week.


"In response to media reports of an alleged rape in Stockholm, prosecutors can confirm that a criminal report has been submitted to the police," Swedish prosecutors said in a statement.


The crime is said to have occurred at a hotel on October 10, but the suspect was not named and said no further information could be released at this time.


According to a document submitted to the Stockholm District Court and reviewed by AFP, the crime took place at the Premium Bank Hotel in central Stockholm.


After the hearing, a source close to Qatar-owned PSG said the league would make a decision on October 25.


Mbappe's entourage said in a statement to AFP on Monday that the accusations were "completely false and irresponsible", adding that all necessary legal action would be taken to re-establish the truth.
